Our Mission
Our mission is
promotion and development of excellent library service
throughout North Carolina by encouraging and assisting the
formation, growth, and development of Friends of The Library
groups in North Carolina and by providing the means for
Friends to exchange ideas, information and experiences.
What We Do

We encourage
and assist the formation and development of local
Friends of the Library groups.

We foster
and encourage cooperative efforts among citizens and
libraries.

We provide
five annual workshops across the state as an opportunity
for Friends to exchange ideas, information and
experiences.

|
Our print
newsletter and electronic discussion list keep members
up-to-date on Friends issues and opportunities.
|
|
|
We present
annual cash awards to outstanding Friends groups
and volunteers.
|
|
|
We host a
web site that provides current information about FONCPL,
about Friends issues and activities statewide,
and FONCPL membership information.
|
|
|
We
financially support the advocacy efforts of North
Carolina Public Library Directors Association.
|
|
|
FONCPL is a
member of Friends of Libraries USA. Through membership
in this national organization, FONCPL receives news,
ideas and information that benefit our NC Friends |
