Marlena White, President of the Friends of South Carolina Libraries, gives tips on applying for grants for a Friends group.
Marlena has worked with library Friends groups for 17 years. She serves as the board president for the Friends of South Carolina Libraries, an organization committed to connecting, educating and engaging library Friends in South Carolina. She is a graduate of Leadership Lexington County, the recipient of the 2019 United for Libraries ThriftBooks Grant to attend the American Library Association Annual Conference and holds a degree in business and accounting. She is currently enrolled in the Organizational Leadership program at USC Columbia and is employed by a nonprofit management firm in Columbia, SC
